Bitcoin Scam reported by Penang Bridge International Marathon 2013 Officials

By on October 9, 2013

It’s been a crazy week again in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

I was informed by Exabytes and they informed me that a scammer / group of scammers, had created multiple Mailchimp accounts to send out scam emails. In that email, there was a “purported Bitcoin Draw” by the Penang Bridge International Marathon organizers.

This is a SCAM !!. So DO NOT send Bitcoins to that Bitcoin address.

Here is the sample of the scam link that misused the URL of bitcoinmalaysia.com, weusecoins.com and coinbase.com: http://us7.campaign-archive2.com/?u=f60a679d6057077d3a5ed1f2b&id=f3368ea1eb

Apart from that, the scammer also used my Reddit.com nickname and leaked data on the Marathan participants and another scam email from 24 Sept 2013, misused the Bitcoin Foundation name.
